Float Tube Fly Fishing on Still Water
For up to two fly fishers on local trout ponds. Depending on location, these ponds are stocked with any one, or a combination of Rainbows, Brookies and/or Browns.
For up to two fly fishers we can visit some local lakes or ponds in the area that are home to Small Mouth Bass. If you have never caught a Smallie on a fly rod, I'm afraid you just don't know what you are missing. They hit your fly like a freight train and fight like the dickens.
Using a float tube is like sitting in your easy chair--only your floating. Float tube fly fishing is an excellent way for beginner fly fishers to get the feel of handling a fly rod and the sport of fly fishing. You can cast the fly rod if your skills allow, or you can "troll" your fly line. You simply let out a sufficient amount of line and kick your flippers to propel the float tube. Your fly will be trolled through the water behind you. Trolling flies in this manner is a superb way to cover a large amount of water, and is a highly effective way to fish. I will provide you with a float tube, float tube fins or flippers, inflatable suspender type life vest, flies and a high quality rod/reel in a 4 or 5 wt. You must provide your own waders, or just wear swim trunks if the weather permits (don't worry, we have nothing nasty in our NH water that's gonna getchya). I will assist you from a small canoe or kayak so that I can quickly help you with netting your catch, or changing a fly then quickly be out of your way. Float tubing for trout or bass can be productive at any time during the spring, summer and fall seasons.
